Christmas morning, cold but warm,
A colour tree and angel form
In the mists of long ago,
A burning hearth amidst the snow.
And in my heart I wish to treasure
Children playing, Santa's pleasure.
A gewgaw sparkles in window pane,
Frosted leaves along the lane.
Chestnuts roasting by the fire,
Choirboys singing in fine attire,
Of times gone by, long long ago,
Now let's reflect, untie the bow.
What has it all been about,
Christ came to show us ways of love,
And on his birthday it does seem right
To bless this world, this silent night.
