Memories

Oh how I'll miss the great mountains and the tall trees, the pretty prairies and the long green grass.
The cold mountain rivers, so fresh and clear, pouring down from the snowy peaks in the far distance.
Oh how I'll miss the little gardens full of delicate flowers...
Though I am happy to go, I will always miss the sweet little houses with sightly shutters.
The beauteous horses with stunning coats that gleam in the sun.
But at least I'll always have memories.
Memories of spring, running down the road to see my friends, smelling the air, all fresh, full of the sweet scent of flowers and budding plants.
I remember waiting for the first hot day like a cat waits for a mouse.
Memories of summer, oh the wonderful summers I have had.
I remember swimming with my companions in the ice cold river under the bluest of sky and the sun was hotter then it had been all year round.
I'll always remember the silly dare games and the summer cabin we built to hang out in.
The times I ran down the lane, shadows and sunlight taking turns to dance on my face.
I'll remember sitting in the dark on a pile of hay, laughing and talking about what we had done that day.
Memories of autumn, like watching the dazzling colours of the leaves as thousands of them swirl around in the air before gracefully landing on the ground at my feet.
I'll remember lying there, looking up at the night sky...watching the stars with him, talking... and that first goodnight kiss.
Memories of winter, snow falling around me, landing on my nose and melting on my eyelashes.
Building snowmen and throwing snowballs at my dearest of friends.
Though I am happy I'm going back to my home country I will miss all the amazing places I have seen and the people I have met....Some more then others...
Of course I have some bad memories...But as I always said to the boy I once loved “That's life”...at least I will always have my memories and if I forget them...I will have this to remind me of the years I have spent in France.
