Goodbye

I thought we shared a vision and a future
I thought we shared a common view of life
But then it seemed our thoughts were not together
And when you turned away it caused me strife.

I like to keep in touch with my beloved
I like to feel we’re always close some way
But then I found that you could quite ignore me
And be happy if we didn’t talk for days.

Perhaps I cast a spell when we’re together
Perhaps you let the guard down on your heart
But when I’m gone and sensible takes over
Your head decides that we should stay apart.

So I cannot be the one who snores beside you
I cannot be the one who really cares
Although it seems that I’m the one who’s running
