How to keep fit on a wet Sunday? It has to be sport. Egg and spoon
race across the kitchen, followed by bicep straining struggle with the
lid on the marmalade. An hour pumping iron, then put the ironing board
away, and speed up the reflexes with a quick game of
chase-the-dressing-gown-belt with the cat.
Rugby in the afternoon is a much stiffer challenge: lots of jumping up
and down from the armchair to abuse the ref, groan at the dropped
passes, and dash for the half time tea and digestives. Still, Tigers
won, so it's off to Cardiff at the end of May, if I can get
tickets.
I'm winding down now with a few gentle rounds of net-golf. Must
remember to keep the legs raised; I don't want the lactic acid building
up in the muscles. Look what it does to Steve Redgrave at the end of a
race.
