The Kissing Moon

It was on the night of the Harvest Fiesta that the moon shone its magic on the village of San Miguel.
Young Pedro walked along the dusty old road that led to the home of the Ortiz family. Pedro was to escort the elder of the Ortiz children, Anna, to the fiesta. The young man had been waiting all his life for this moment.
Tonight would be Pedro's first time alone with the beautiful Anna. He was excited. His heart pounding loud as a drum.
"Help me, moon," the young man pleaded, as he stood before the Ortiz home. "I am very much afraid."
"Fear not, Pedro, " said the moon. "I will be with you."
The thought was a comfort to Pedro. And, as they walked to the fiesta, Pedro kept one eye on the beautiful Anna and one eye on the floating moon.
The moon, wishing to make an impression on the young couple, decided to enchant them with its allure.
Pedro and Anna, sitting on the fishing pier with their legs dangling playfully over the side, watched the moon perform its magic.
It worked.
The whole village, who were watching from a safe distance, sighed as Pedro and Anna shared their first kiss; which was sweet, warm and delicious.
The moon is a fine magician.
