Small Tales for the Hurried - Number Four

The pea was as big as a house. It had rolled down the hill and came to a stop at William’s front door.
“Where do you suppose it came from?” said his friend Henry.
“I don’t know,” said William. “But it can’t stay here. I need to get out of my house. How about giving me a hand? We’ll dig a tunnel straight through.”
No sooner had the two friends reached the center of the pea, when a giant extraterrestrial happened by.
“Ah, there it is, thought the mouth-less alien.
Picking up the pea between his thumb and forefinger, the giant stuffed it up his nostril and inhaled.
Ah, that’s better, thought the giant. I was starving.
William and Henry never did learn what had happened to them. They woke the following day in a fowl smelling pit, staring up at what appeared to be a giant kernel of corn.
