“Hey, birdbrain!” Swift ordered. “Lay me some golden eggs!”
The hen responded to her request by having a golden egg laid and continued to lay more golden eggs every day after that.
One evening she felt like something’s missing for the third time.
“But there is just one more thing I need,” Swift said. “I’ll go back up there to see if there’s
anything missing.”
Swift had the courage to climb up on the beanstalk leaving the hen behind. This time, she climbed through an open window to the kitchen.
She sneaked into the kitchen and remained clear of the giant by hiding inside a huge cooking pot until the following day. After dinner, the giant left to get his magic harp, the mysterious instrument that sings and played outstanding soft music.
While listening to the harp’s beautiful melody, the quiet music lulled the giant to sleep. Swift loved listening to the harp’s song she could hear inside the cooking pot but did not like hearing the loud snoring that was disturbing the music which somehow allowed her to lift the lid of the cooking pot and saw the most unique instrument: a legendary golden harp.
She climbed onto the table, grabbed the instrument and ran away fast as a lightning bolt with the harp in her hands.
“The thief is taking me away, master!” The golden harp screamed. “Help me master! The thief is taking me—”
Swift covered the harp’s mouth with her other free hand.
“Shut your musical mouth!” Swift yelled at the harp. “I will pull all your strings off so you can sing ‘I Got No Strings’ in falsetto if you don’t stop screaming!”
It was too late, the giant woke up in a flash, feeling disoriented and disturbed from the loud noise for a few seconds but realized the harp was gone and saw Swift running off with it and goes after Swift once more. Swift ran fast as she could in a heartbeat with the harp calling out.
Swift returned back to the ground and played a quick melody as she strummed the strings that began playing an enchanting tune.
But back up in the clouds, the giant might have figured to hear the harp’s song and Swift realized that the giant is coming for her. The beanstalk began shaking under a massive load of heavyweight. Why, it was none other than the giant himself clambering down to the earth’s surface!
“Does this guy ever stop chasing me around?” Swift sighed annoyingly. “Wait until he tastes the fury of my rapier! I’ll slice and dice this giant beanstalk!”
Swift ran into the house, grabbed her rapier and rushed back outside. She could see the gigantic black boots of the giant and slashed the beanstalk numerous time until the beanstalk had been separated into pieces causing the giant to fall off and crash onto the ground in a loud thud.
“That’ll teach you to chase me, Goliath!” Swift laughed and spat on the ground as she sheathed her rapier back into the scabbard.
“Your treasure now belongs to me and it’s all mine, mine, mine!” she babbled and laughed crazily like a hyena.
The hen kept laying golden eggs and Swift was able to afford a castle to replace the old small house. She was thrilled to have her goal achieved as she gets richer every single day without ever having to end up either being poor or in debt. If it wasn't for her trading in the cow for the magic beans, but in the end, she earned it all for her succession.
