Cat Walks

The cat walks slowly
examining the lay of the land
the grassy slope
beckons to her bowels

She mewed for a week after
having kittens
a second litter
or so I am told

I watch her cover her
tracks, her paws
gather grass
and then she is gone

This is a sickly cat
a cat without peer
or realm
each day hunting to survive
