Small gods

The shrine upon the holy man
Christ upon a cross
Baby in his infant-hood
a man inside a womb
cared not still, these people
their belief, their only hope
they know no reason, nor understand
their deep desires confess
playing along a thread-less trauma
strong among them stand
they fight for it
and kill the weak
render them lifeless
and say they killed for god
Is it fair to the innocent kind
fair to snatch the life
In the name of one they believe
is it right to they take away that tide
the life for which their gods have promised
and their minds are still not wide
believe in it and until still
that no gods are more than life
