AUTUMN LADY

Summer is green and the years they are young;
Tell me my name with your honey-sweet tongue;
Sing of your love to my earthcrystal heart
While the leaves only whisper of Autumn.
- - - Autumn Lady, the leaves of the forest are fair;
- - - Autumn Lady, wild as the fire in your hair.
How tender the rose but she dies on the thorn;
How sweet is the dream till it flies with the Dawn;
And young love grows old from the day it is born,
And the leaves blow away with the Autumn.
My soul has a mirror that's tarnished with time;
The name that you gave me no longer is mine;
Your songs fade away as the bright days depart -
And you've broken my earthcrystal heart ......
- - - Autumn Lady, Summer has gone from your eyes;
- - - Autumn Lady, leaves turn to rain in the skies.
There's never a word that you ever can say;
Time cannot heal when the memories stay;
No blue in the sky, for no comfort is known
To the poor heart betrayed by its own ........
- - - Autumn Lady, Winter is grey but is wise;
- - - Autumn Lady, Winter is lonely and sighs.
- - -.And the leaves are the tears of my Autumn;
- - - And my tears fall like leaves of the Autumn ........
- - - Autumn Lady, Winter is grey but is wise;
- - - Autumn Lady, Winter grows old -
- - - Then she dies.
