Soft upon the dune-blown sands I lie
And watch the spaceships shimmer in the darkling sky;
Warm upon the sparkling waters swirled
The sunset dances in this corner of the world.

- I have seen, a million miles away,
The ebon black of night beside the noonbright day:
Earthrise in the amaranth abyss
Above the crystal Heliopolis.

Cool upon the meadowgrass I dream
And watch the spaceships travel on a silent beam;
Haze and heat and summer round me climb:
A sapphire skylark sings this syllable of time.

- I have seen, another world away,
My earthcast shadow on the ancient moonrocks play;
Long my footprints in the white dust sleep
Where they fell upon the slumbrous deep.

Planet-moons and iridescent rings
Are daydreams scattered on the streaming solar winds;
Spaceships chase them in the sequinned sky .......
While here, on Earth, upon the dune-blown sands I lie.

This is the first time I've read sci-fi poetry it works well. One would think so, the constraints are your imagination, the themes limitless. I don't know really why but your style reminds me strongly of Edgar Allan Poe yours just much more happy and friendlier. “I love Astronomy, Science, Mythology, Ancient History and metaphysical mysteries like the Oahspe Bible.” I do too. I've been wanting to buy a telescope a while now but they are expensive. I prefer looking at stars in the sky rather than in a book. More romantic I guess etc. More real. This “Oahspe Bible” you spoke of sounds similar to the Book of Mormon or the stories in Scientology. I understand that it might appeal to you but to me this has to be a fraud. Indrani Ananda Thank you for your comment, Nolan. I"m honored that you like this poem, most people only like green men and monsters in their science fiction. This poem is one of several Sci-fi songs I have written, but most people find it a bit genteel. The Oahspe Bible is nothing at all to do with Scientology or the Book of Mormon, You will have to look on Wikipedia to glean the most gen. But I must say it has a lot in common with space travel and science at the time it was written, 1880, by automatic writing. But you do need a good knowledge of ancient history, astronomy, religion & mythology - even UFOlogy to thoroughly understand it. Good luck, Indrani.

The requirements are very strict I'm afraid I won't make it. Once I installed a Chinese program on my pc the English was a bit shabby, at the end the screen read: You have now successfully loaded your Ching-Ling software. Good luck.
