Lost

Grey blocks, aggressive angles
Solid light, my mind in tangles
Unfeeling heights
I'm battered by indifference tonight
Through forests of the grey-black paths we walk
I'm finding it so difficult to talk
He's throwing pebbles, logical and stark
I'm following them moonlit in the dark
Lost now, my mind unravels
I'm following his own soul's travels
And telling more
Past the ruined walls, into the core
But still as all my barriers start to fail
He's following that careful pebble trail
I wish he'd throw some breadcrumbs in the air
Birds would eat them; he'd be stranded here
Dark night, and still he listens
While behind, the pathway glistens
He turns me round
He leads me to the light, eyes on the ground
While I pick up the stones along the way
Put them in my pocket where they stay
Until I use them to rebuild the wall
Too late, defending boundaries as I fall
