JUVENESCENCE
Awaken, my boy, feel the transformation
of your mind and your body,
awash in the maelstrom of disunity.
You are alive, but with the wary eyes
of prey in a raptor's world.
Evening slides down the slate blue sky
like April mist upon a window pane.
Go out into the night and take the chance
to see what you may be:
the boy, perhaps the man.
The night holds mysteries to learn;
each passing star a building block.
Constructing time, to grow, to change.
And when the stars shine clear,
through the cold and heavy haze,
they spill life's sacred stream,
and with breathless speed
will be manhood in your face.
