Jolly acrobat

Because I have to peer through
the stargazer to discover a new planet.
Because I have to go to the garage.
Because I have to read all the attachments
of the daily newspaper.
So many reasons, so many excuses not
to stand still, not to sit still.
At the kitchen table for example.
But this morning I am gripped like
a reluctant child and placed on a chair
to see the sunlight sliding over
the whole grain bread like a jocular alpinist.
To see my thoughts dancing
on the piece of cheese like jolly acrobats.
The collected time pours coffee
in my cup and start to wonder why I do
not run, hide, work or look back,
I see her sitting next to me.
'May I introduce myself?' she says
and smiles like the daughter of Aphrodite.
'I am your Love,' she explains.
Speechless with disbelief I crumble a biscuit.
'My Love?' I repeat hoarsely.
And just when I want to convince her
that this is a ridiculous way of reasoning
and I cannot except her attendance
because of lack of scientific information
she takes my fleshy hands
and leads me to the stargazer.
'Look, look, the planet you just discovered,'
she clarifies with a funny accent.
'That's where I'm coming from.'

Like where you're coming from
Like where you're coming from. A splash of strange at breakfast is what we all need.
