the painter's wild brush strokes endure the tireless ages
and coax my mind to complete the image with textures of my own
for a moment i am trapped
stock still in awe at our creation
i have stared
thousands
down and
every colour
and contour
found in my eyes
its counterpart
lord knows i have tried
to awaken you to my love as such
but you stare blankly at the colours on the page
and words of desire
unnoticed
unwanted
or estranged
