Day 01 - Caligula and Harpo

His hair looked good.
It was a day to be photographed.
He inhaled the fragrance of onions,
which lurked under his fingernails
like soft blades. His brothers tucked in.
It was a banquet. Directors only.
He wore his seal-the-deal suit
and new Harpo wig. Froth of salmony curls.
None commented. Too busy
locking lips around spoons, mopping chins,
playing track after track
of chitter-chat-chaff.
He made a manic face and pointed
when their jukeboxes jammed
in their chests. He squeezed
his holstered antique car horns,
when their heads slammed into their bowls,
like footballs into puddles,
secret ingredients.
He looted the corpses for gum,
pewter cigarette cases
and keys to Jaguars.
That evening, he couldn't decide:
'Duck Soup' or a Channel 5 film
starring Mick Jagger and Dieter Laser?
