When you left
you took some of my heart with you

I am writing to ask you to please post it back

You need not hurry to the station
while an orchestra rages

I am not interested in a relationship,
and I do not think you are either,
although you are very attractive
and we got on well

I imagine you may have taken it by accident

It probably fell into your wineglass
when I leant over to tell you a joke
or made a leap for it
when we jostled for space on the sofa

It may have stowed away
when we swapped gamepads

My thumb-tips are still sore, by the way

I have had such a hard time
without this vital hunk of my heart

The walls of my room have closed in,
my camera lens has a crack
like a lightning bolt
and I do not look good in my bath robe anymore
