There was once a lonely Princess locked up in a castle tower. She was always alone in her chambers, as her hand was promised to some great lord, once she had come of age. She peered out of her tower window each day, and dreamt of the world beyond the castle walls. She dreamt of freedom and true love, as she gazed out over the far hills, but solitude and loneliness was still her fate. Then one day an Archer out walking down by the stream, spotted her high up above in her tower window. He was struck by her beauty and wished to meet, but a mere Archer like himself would never mix with royalty. Each day he came down to the stream, and each day the Princess peered longingly from her window up above. Yet never the two would meet, this was their fate. Then one day the Archer could hold his love no longer, and shot an arrow high up to the window, with a note tied to it. As the arrow of his love flew in a great arch towards to tower, so a beautiful rainbow formed in its path, glistening and shining in glorious bands of colours. The arrow struck her window shutter, and she look at it in awe. Then she took the note from the arrow, and it said in three words only, ‘I Love You’. He called to her above and she stepped out of the tower window onto the rainbow of the Archer’s love, and walked down the splendid bow, to where he waited below. They disappeared together into the woods and was never heard of again. True love, like a true Archer, always finds its mark.
