Dawn

The sky has sunk in the distance,
darkness gone, daylight enters,
as world shifts forward, sidles in slowly
glittering, pristine, fresh off God’s factory line,
into the fray as a new moment
introduces itself, world reignited.
Fire burns in the night sky,
explosions in celebration,
dead stars falling, now replaced,
zoom soaring tinsel temporarily
to light the world but instate
sound of bombing, of far away destruction
loose the cannon, chief politician
to end all war, and drop bombshells,
make waves in the chaos,
clear the debris of past mistakes,
include the forgotten for once,
voice a nation’s grief,
a world’s regret, and guilt.
Morning enters through the curtain
and you are the new dawn, a light
to lighten the darkness,
a man with a responsibility unparalleled,
with a parallax vision it can be done,
but God bless America, and good luck to you.
