Lover, romancer, seeker of dreams,

Dancer, horse-rider, independent woman

Worker, strong-minded, forthright

In the face of Sixties chauvinist might,

Energetic, all-conquering, fighting for right.

Incubator, world-changer, engineer 

Of my future, moral compass-maker,

Organiser and arguer, blunderer,

Yet ferocious, determined, never hand over

The game to another, said never surrender.

Inspirer, horticultural master,

Quick intellect, fast humour,

Yet warm-hearted and generous,

A blueprint for our futures,

Your son and your daughter.
