Leap of Faith
By Jane Hyphen
- 900 reads
Faith is over
At this junction he decides
Remembers what it feels
To be a man
Strong with free will
Now bloodied on the outside
And inside filled with clots
To snag straight thinking
Faith is ill she needs him
Locks him up each time
He tries to leave
In early days a hero
To Faith he saw himself
But she’s wired up
Incurable, a thousand volts
Fuming sparks of rage
And he is filled with shame
Neither man or hero
Under this hailing rain
Relationship of terror
Black and red and
Blue all over, missiles
Fly at dinner, cat claws
Engaged as easily as words
And mortified he’s weak
But at this junction
To go this way or that
He steers with just the clothes
Upon his back, he drives
Away from all they shared
So soon he’s late
Faith waits and sighs
Watches at the window
Inwardly she feels the rise
Her fury so free flowing
His heart’s racing
‘Don’t look back
Just keep going’
He speaks to himself
Of another type of faith

What's in a name! Seems to be
What's in a name! Seems to be a need for a mediator, a counsellor there – hate and love, anger and longing to help all so mixed up, lashing out when really longing to let go and accept a proffered reaching out … ?? Rhiannon

This is a great piece, Jane.
This is a great piece, Jane. I hadn’t twigged the meaning until I read your comment (meaning in the beholder; releasing writing into the wild, and all that. I was in Beat world). Yes, this really happens. Three bin liners. They wouldn't hold all the accumulated repercussions.
