PUSS KAT AND RI RI

Puss Kat is a street cat who finds food wherever he can, usually in dustbins where he sleeps at night sheltered from bad weather and danger. One evening while looking for food behind his favourite restaurant he discovered an injured mouse.

"No!,please don't eat me" cried the mouse.

"I have no intention of eating you" replied Puss Kat. "I am not a nasty cat and I won't harm you."

The mouse, who was still frightened and rather wary, stayed still for a few moments.

"I am going to take you home with me where you will be safe. I will feed you and take care of you until you are better" the cat tried to reassure her. He picked up the mouse by the neck and took her home to the dustbin where he lived.

For several days he collected as much food as he possibly could so that she could regain her strength. They became very close and at the end of a week the mouse was much better.

Puss Kat decided that it was time for her to meet his his street friends.

"I haven't seen my pals for quite a while and I would like to explain  the reasons for my absence."

The mouse, although rather reticent, agreed to meet his pals. They took off walking down several roads so that Puss Kat could catch up with all his mates.

When he saw them he said "Greetings my friends, I was absent for a week as I was looking after my new pal the mouse and I would like to introduce her to you."

"Well done Puss Kat" they replied "It is high time that there is peace between our two species."

They were delighted to meet the mouse whom they named RiRi.

The mouse was delighted at last to be able to shed her fear of the street cats, and decided to make a gesture towards peace herself by proposing to  introduce them to her family and friends. The cats accepted her gesture and the mouse led them to the doors of an abandoned garage.

"Could you please wait outside so that I can warn my friends?"

She went into the garage and related her wonderful adventure to all the town mice who lived there. They were all delighted to learn of the peace that had been agreed between the cats and them.

The cats, waiting outside, saw the doors open and hundreds of mice appeared clapping loudly and welcomed them warmly.

They held a party that lasted a day and a night, they shared their adventures, they laughed and danced together, revelling in their new found friendship

Since that day all the cats and the mice in the town, lived in harmony, played together and hunted for food together. They were all to remember their wonderful adventure, they taught peace around them and to all their descendants!!
