The time has come for firmness.
With laws that have to last.

So Dave and Nick must act, and quick.
If not the future's dismal.
They'll lose the public's trust, and then,
Our lives become abysmal.

There is no point in giving blame,
The harm's already done.
The men of state must cogitate,
The battle's not yet done.

The top policemen, all of them
Must take a long hard look.
Have we done well or not too good,
Or isn't it just a cosy nook.

To those of you who wear the cloth
It's you who rule the streets
Or so it was not long ago
Before the world of "TWEETS".

We're watching now with both eyes wide
To see what you decide.
Elections loom, afar or near
On which YOUR futures ride.

Now gentlemen just get to work.
The public's doing its bit.
Now what we want is leadership,
