God is the label on an empty bottle of good wine.
God is the source of the words in Tennyson's poems, the hand of MichaelAngelo when he painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel,
God is the music Beethoven heard when he was deaf.
God is a word without definition
God is the Golden Calf of our creation, the jigsaw puzzle when it is complete.
God is the spark when the stone hits the rock,
your mother's tit and your father's shadow,
a joke, a giant redwood tree, the source of the Nile and the sea it empties in, the Wizard of Oz, winning the lottery, and the smile on a 6 week old baby.
God is the pretext for the Crusades and the Inquisition.
God is out to lunch, laughing at you.
God is the end of the rainbow,
God is always on the side of the winner,
God is the reason I feel guilty for things I should have done . . . and didn't.
God is watching me write this in the middle of the night.
God is! . . . Or is he?
