Snowplication (3rd February, 2009, 11.59am)
I open my mouth to receive their
snowflake communion on my tongue;
an offering from greater, older Gods
than the one I have been shown;
I kneel in the snow, raise my blessed
face to the North Wind, bare my brimming
heart, chest swelling with newfound devotion.
I bury my face to submerge breath;
Nature’s icy hands around my soul,
harvesting one more follower with
every further hour of falling snow.
I lie in the cold, seek the shimmering
stars above the glow, frozen in resolution,
supplicating myself beneath a new Heaven.
