Karuna, the Rasa of pathos and compassion the dominant color is gray.
( Bridge )
Little beads do not a necklace make
nor do they fasten to any crown,
instead they adorn the brows
of the sick and dying,
as they keep sinking into the ground
Tears well up as wrappers dance
along avenues where bodies lie,
within the horrors of every glance
the sadness you can't deny,
it's more than coins that you can give
ignorance to their plight is a shame,
though forsaken they still live
they deserve mercy all the same
( chorus )
Every heartbeat, dirty or clean
nightmares to some, to some but a dream,
show the world in every action
that you are not above compassion
Noses sniffled, as the velvet's crushed
with the lid slowly closing,
the candles burn bright, all the whispers hushed
the sorrow is so imposing,
those dressed in black with knuckles white
holding onto memories passing,
any offer of kindness, either grand or slight
will in moments of need be everlasting
( chorus )
Every heartbeat, dirty or clean
nightmares to some, to some but a dream,
show the world in every action
that you are not above compassion.
