Should the Minister stay or go?

The House had put down a question
Should the Minister stay on or go
The Opposition all said "You bet your life".
But the PM had said bluntly "NO!"
The Home Secretary rose and said to the House
"Mr. Speaker , I will not resign.
So, we've let lots prisoners loose on the streets,
But the fault is the system's not mine."
"No! No! Mr. Speaker I really can't go
and leave my department like this.
I must clear up the mess, sort it all out
to do else would be very remiss".
"I told the Prime Minister back in December.
Now see here Tony," I said.
"This problem is serious and if I don't act
could even bounce back on your head!"
"Don't worry yourself, old lad." Tony told me
"I'll stand by you through thick and through thin.
Remember the backing I gave to old David
and look at what happened to him!"
"So I stand here before you hand on my heart
admitting there's been a real fault,
and telling you all that the PM and I
have demanded the fullest report."
We'll find all the people we shouldn't have lost
We'll take all their papers away
Then we'll say they are all persona non grata
And tell them they simply can't stay.
"But I won't leave my post Mr. Speaker, I won't,
after all I am only the Head
and the mistake was made much lower down
So I'll sack those buggers instead."
