YOU & ME

I won't react to sneers or threats,
to insult, jibe or epithets.
I refuse point blank to run or hide
from maniacs bent on suicide.

I won't be told what I must say,
nor what to think in any way.
I will not listen if you shout
or run if you wave your fist about.

I'd like to hear your point of view,
understand what makes you, you.
But if perchance I don't agree
remember please, that I am me.
