Winter Sunrise

Winter Sunrise.
Cold, cold. So bitter, bitter, cold.
The watery sun peeps coyly through the mist
Black skeletal trees reflected in the snow
Dance madly to the moaning of the wind
Bending the leafless branches to and fro’
Flurries of snow precede a heavy fall
Coating in pristine white the fields and wold
And leaden skies turn daytime into night
Cold, cold. So bitter, bitter, cold.
Cold so intense it freezes to the bone.
Cold so intense it numbs the addled brain
Cold so intense, it makes the spirit groan
Cold so intense Will you be warm again?
Cold so intense it makes the young feel old
Cold, cold. So bitter, bitter, cold.
