My friend writes of drink
And the flotsam and dregs
That prop the bar.
Of the Salt with the wink
And a Gin in the legs
And tales of near and far
Of trophies and silver and dust
Of greed, lies, thirst and lust
Of the shadow and pall
That covers them all
With guilt and shame as a crust
(And Google, dear Google,
sees Yacht Club and Ship Club and adds
links to suppliers of Flags!)
Nautical Boat Flags,
Yacht Ensigns
International Code
Signal Flags
But no mentions or signs
Of Red Flags!
