Walk In The Light

Patience waited all day
For Slothfulness to come.
Idleness met it on the way,
And they went off to have some fun.


They stopped at the Liars' bar
To play a game of deceit.
Idleness had money in a jar,
But it was counterfeit.


Greed sat drinking a cup of tea,
Anxiously waiting to grab
Anything it could see,
Or thought that it should have.


Then into the bar came Hope
Followed by Courage who carried
A light to lead the way
Along the Path of Truth,
Where Patience sat and waited
At the crossroads of Life.


The Path was narrow,
The journey was long,
But Courage helped them
To keep their faith strong.


The light showed Greed the folly
Of wanting far too much.
And told the Liar that the Path
Was not a place for such.


Idleness and Sloth got busy
When they spied Journey's End.
But they knew that Patience
Would always be their friend.
