viper
the remembrance
of your poison,
still angers my blood.
what you think you can excuse,
with a smile, and a hug,
makes me want to vomit
my lungs into an 8am drain.
you coiled, and
encircled me, fangs
hidden, behind future plans,
all buttercup children
and wedding bells.
but fangs, are fangs,
and you never had them hid,
quite as well,
as you imagined
you did.
i am prey, no more,
fleeing, with ruined blood,
i cower, in self-made shade,
as you stew
your venom,
for another.
