the woodwork mirror
an ill-bred design,
assembled from
comprehensive impatience:
awkward geometry,
and timber bruises
of a badly managed
sanding machine.
triple angled plinth,
a lone arm, protrudes
on the simplest
of joints, forming
a slack right angle,
originally intended
for poise.
square backing,
attempts at
curved corners,
inelegant.
ungainly mirror glass,
glued to the wood
with less than perfect
positioning.
this is how the times were,
then, when angles
had no importance.
design and build
sacrificed,
to the uncomplicated enthusiasm
of being alive.

But a beautiful frame

But a beautiful frame fashioned with love and skill by a craftsman can only enhance the reflection in the glass and foster harmony of mind and serenity of spirit.
On the other hand who gives a toss what the frane's like as long as you can see in the mirror that your hat's on straight?
Nice thought provoking piece
