A Little Bit of Happy.
At a neighbor’s urging, we sought out a rather unique eatery in Estero. Florida. F…K your Diet (Foster Kids) It is a simple adobe-style building, sitting on the west side of U.S. # 41, just north of the Vines Country Club. in Estero, Fl.The owner also runs a foundation dedicated to helping Foster Kids in all facets of their life, bless his soul.
The structure’s bright pink coloring alerted us that something special lay inside. The place could well have been a small, Mexican casita in Laredo, Texas. The walls and tables were colored in splashes of bright yellow, orange, blue and pink motif. Happy slogans were painted on them. Soft country music crooned out various two-step tunes that sounded both friendly and inviting. Truck Drivers must love the place.
It was 7:45 A.M. and FK's was not overcrowded. The young lad, who met us, said somewhat humorously that we could sit where we wanted, because the place wasn’t yet crowded. Sarcasm is one of my favorite forms of expression.
The menu is extensive. We choses the “Vegetarian Sammy.” When it arrived, all we could do was smile. The two eggs, siting on English muffins were covered with avocados, sauce, tomatoes and cheese, and surrounded with enough fried potatoes to feed half of the population of Limerick, Ireland. The coffee was rich and full flavored. Tammy, the server, was personable and engaging.
The food was more than delicious, it was country-breakfast style delicious. We did our best to lay into this mountain of calories, but could only manage half of the platter. It was wonderful.
We left a generous donation for the FK program, as we left this cute and happy facility. We will return the next time we want to eat like troopers from the First Airborne who have been out on maneuvers for a week. FK's is friendly, happy and made you feel worthwhile for contributing to a place that does its best to help kids in need.
Thanks Teri for the recommendation, Teri. The place is open from 7 A.M until 3 P.M. daily,
Joe & Mary Martin

You sound like a critic
Are you a critic for a magazine? I see you write all kinds of reviews. This sounds like a wonderful breakfast something totally unique hey? Good solid stuff! A kitsch quiche! And definitely satisfied, I like this kind of thing too, unpretentious and honest. The love of the common people.
If you want a real classy breakfast date book at the Burgerspark for the best buffet anywhere. Even gets me' out of bed!
But I don't understand how you can say this is sarcasm: The place was not overcrowded …

All the best! Tom
