Finding in Darkness

Not knowing what to look for,
a key to an unknown door,
or a tiny star of light
for hope of outside,
even as I held it up
was fading away
yet I hold on.

Thankyou both :) I suppose it is actually a way out and there is a scottish saying in latin dum spiro spero while I breath I hope or in some case dum spero spiro! Thanks for reading K
