I carefully strode my way into my parents’ room. Being a child, I was vulnerable to mischievous acts that eventually terraformed my honest demeaner. I finally succumbed to the sweet temptation of doing bad deeds. More specifically ‘stealing’. As I closed in, I swiftly snatched my father’s wallet which was naturally unguarded. With my heart pulsating alongside a grin on my face, I stole 5 dollars. Overjoyed, I ran to the nearest convenience store to reward myself.
Some people would argue that stealing a measly amount of money is nothing at all, but they are well dammed wrong. To children, stealing isn’t considered bad because of what is stolen but because it drives them to keep on racking up their bad deeds until they have committed atrocious sins. True to this statement, my bad deeds started when I first stole money from my own family to buy candy. Gradually, my greed kept on increasing till I was at a point of no return.
One of my biggest regrets was my deftness for this vulgar skill. If only I was caught committing petty crimes instead of the major crime that shattered my reputation. Maybe I wouldn’t be in such a dire situation.
On the summer of 2020, I was strolling around the neighborhood when suddenly, I glanced at a miraculous sight. They had just released the ‘ps5’ and of course to no one’s surprise, this premium device was priced at an astonishing 700$. Knowing full well, it was out of my league, I unconsciously smiled crookedly and then began to meticulously prepare a plan to steal it.
As the night cast a shadow over the city, notifying everyone that it was time to sleep. I put on a ‘ski-mask’ and then waited for the lights of the store to dim down. Afterwards, I took a plier and then forcefully broke the lock.
The store had an eerie sensation to it as it was my first time visiting after workhour. I took out a flashlight from my pocket. Then, I began scanning the perimeter for the ‘ps5’. Before long, I found it. It was carefully placed on the top shelf like a trophy meant for Olympic athletes. I grinned slightly and then instinctively moved forward. However, to my shock before I could grab my trophy, an alarm rang. Shortly after, the security system kicked in and I was locked in the store.
I had made a huge blunder. Overwhelmed by this series of unexpected trials. I broke down into tears. I began to desperately break the windows but unfortunately the windows were burglar proof.
I was caught red-handed. Before long, sirens began to echo in the silent neighborhood and the police escorted me to the nearest police station. My parents rushed to find me as soon as the news reached them. As I met them handcuffed, my mother broke down into tears and my father directly slapped me. The stinging sensation of the slap quickly subsided as my guilt took over. I closed my eyes and then began to let out silent whimpers. I knew things would be different from now on
