ORCHESTRAL MUSINGS

Today I am a cello!
Clasped twixt my lovers thighs
Circumstances and the vagaries of life
Pluck at my strings, whilst I
Resonate
In my profound, sonorous voice,
Echoing back my melancholy at the days,
In thoughtful and measured tones.
Today I am a violin!
Cradled softly in my lovers arms
Playing out the bitter-sweet
Moments, as life's bow
Caresses
The strings that are
My raw and tender nerves,
Stretched, taut and quivering.
Today I am a saxophone!
Held fast in my lovers mouth
Full with heavy breath and
Shockingly desirable.
With a come-hither moan
Sinuously swinging
As my voluptuousness glints,
Mischievous, in the dim and hazy light.
Today I am a drum!
An instrument in my lovers hands
Taking the full frontal beatings
And the gentle rim-shots
Switching to my own beat
Stomping to my own tune
Pulsing in the undercurrent
The foundation of my own rhythm.
Today I am an orchestra!
A force to be reckoned with.
Now in harmony
Now discordant
But singing with
A thousand different voices
That crescendo and surge,
Drowning&;#8230;..my lover and the cries of nay-sayers!
