When Allah,
the Compassionate, the Merciful,
created this world,
It was a perfect sphere,
as smooth and unblemished
as its ideal.
But, while the earth
was still damp and soft
from the hands of God,
the Fallen One,
with talons forged
to scourge the heart of God,
Scratched deep ravines
and rivers in her flawless face,
sundering the land,
dividing the people
and loosing discord.
Then, Allah, in loving pity,
but bound by his own Law,
Dispatched his Angels
to the aid of man.
The servants of the High,
seeing His children
teetering and tormented
on the edge of chasms and abysses,
spread their wings for them to cross.
So next time you cross a bridge,
tread softly for you walk on Angel wings.
