Of Fearless Men

Of fearless men,
With sonorous voices
On monochrome screens
Amid crackling noise,
Came a fight worth losing.
No breaks or flashes
Or shiny sentiment.
Just a crepitated throat,
An amended tie,
Enough to convey
Great moments gone by.
They said it straight
With precise intonation
Proclaiming the truth
Not the will of the nation.
Never beat the drum
Nor rattled the sabre
Addressed coldly and calmly
All imminent danger.
Objective poets now faded to black
Friendly, humble and sharp as a fact.
A white dot on a screen,
A silent pen.
We are truly descended of fearless men.
