Daily Routine

I wake up in the morning,
And put on my face.
The one that's going to get me through another day.
Have a shower,
Eating breakfast,
Brush my teeth,
Drink some tea,
Head for the door after grabbing my keys.
Start the car, hear it roar to life.
Take off the hand brake, and put it in drive.

I wake up in the morning and put on my face. My membership badge to the local Rat race A flimsy façade but it hints at my rank Pretends that I’m healthy with lots in the bank No time for breakfast I head for the door Another grey day - looks like it may pour Off to the office - I drive in a dream. I wonder if others are quite what they seem. What is my true face - do I fit in? Roll on the weekend then I can sleep in.
