As Daylight Breaks on Christmas Morn

As daylight breaks on Christmas Morn
There's some believe a child born
In Bethlehem long years ago
Still speaks a message all should know.
The Son of God the angel said
A manger low his mortal bed,
Beneath a new star's silver light
A beacon shining mid the night.
As daylight breaks on Christmas Morn
A child wakes with joyful yawn,
For she believes that as she slept
Into the house old Santa crept.
A white haired soul all dressed in red
He roves the night in a reindeer sled,
Down each chimney with his sack
Of toys and treats upon his back.
As daylight breaks on Christmas Morn
Twixt sleep and waking one man's torn,
A man who feels this special day
Need not be ruled by how we pray.
For him it's time with those most dear
Exchanging gifts and sharing cheer,
It's spreading joy where'er we can
Peace on Earth, goodwill to Man.
