The four beauties.
Frozen;
In the steel frame.
Singly, stood the youngest
A foot smaller than the rest
But a hidden smile slipping from out her skin.
A beauty.
The moon faced
Stood third
Eyes shining like marbles,
But dreamy and overflowing
You could melt in the mixture.
Then stood the second child
Her hair swinging at her neck,
Like a flower in the wind.
Her smile gappy but fluorescent.
Not ready for the future.
Finally stood the oldest
Proud and caring
Eyes too bright
Nose too big
Smile just perfect.
For a second
You could here the
Screams and laughter.
But then it goes back to;
The four beauties
Frozen;
In the steel frame.
