We needed to dance like giraffes
And so we danced stretching our necks
And our feet gathered dust from the floor
And the black marks of
Many children’s shoes
Janice said
We are tall and triangular
And we built a dance with this in mind
While those who watched
Scuffed their toes and
Wished they were us
Janice said
We are no longer friends
And built a giraffe life
I knew
My neck was too short

Sweet loss evoked here. Love the neck imagery - elegant yet aloof.
