POEM: Elusive.

Elusive image with edges blurred, I ask,
Will you opine events as shared by me?
Open the lines to communicate and,
Drink our fill of curiosity,
Establish boundaries of imagining,
Redefine reality?
My mind is cluttered with your face,
Pushing at the doors where locks erode,
When pressed, baggage tumbling out,
In disturbance of the fallow ground
Of the treasure best left buried,
Now so surely surface bound.
I reassess my tunnelled view,
That burial concluded, I had nothing lost
Of me in mourning, and yet
The outstretched hand of distant past,
Undead, it plucks, unravelling,
The threads that would hold me fast.
Willful eclipse of hard admissions,
Best wrapped in dark cold shadows cloak
Crystal clarity, as fabric tears
The bitter glare of hindsight invoked
The gritted laden eyes that
Burn with salty tears that choke.
The relief of slumber's cushioned arms,
To resolve the resurgence of your face,
Requires I stem renewed desires to be
Again your consort, in your grace
I must first relinquish the hope,
Which I, vainly would embrace.
