Another good day dawns, because he loves me.
He has settled in my bones and makes me stronger,
As joy unfolds, he drapes my skin with his delight
Even after thirty years, and I surely hope for longer.
With the children grown, the nest is growing colder
But his every care... thought for me does not falter.
He says to spread my wings and fly, to try,
To dare, to risk and face the coldest shoulder
And so I try, I fly and soar to places never dreamed.
And to see the smile alight his face makes me bolder.
I know that if I crash and burn and graze my knees... and cry.
He'll be there to catch me, all because he loves me.
