While the sun is here
We walk in gilded meadows
Talking of nonsense things
Light footed in the grass
Listening to the bumble bees
Understand their every word
While the sun is here
We bare our arms
Kicking off our shoes
Bathe our bodies in the warmth
Breathing the honey suckle scented air
Pick daisies with our toes
While the sun is here
We splash in bubbling streams
Sending sparkles of water heavenward
Make rainbows in the air
Marvelling at the shimmering colours
Soak our sun warmed skin
While the sun is here
We celebrate it
Paying it homage as we play
Stretch joyfully in its embrace
Sure only that tomorrow
Makes no promises of sun

It would be nice if we did

It would be nice if we did have a promise of sun every day. Nevertheless your lovely poem brought some sunshine to me, LG, on this cool and cloudy afternoon.

Your brought me memories of childhood in this poem,
long hot summer holidays, without a care in the world.
Beautiful poem.
Jenny.
