I made you tea and poured all of my heart into it,
I give it freely, I have bags of it.
Like sugar, it might wake you up,
I have stirred some magic into it.
It is offered, humbly, for you to sip,
To drink in and savour.
Made to restore you,
Wrap it’s warmth around and comfort.
When you feel my excitement tingling on your tongue,
You can run the tip of it around the edges.
If you feel my affections gather like grit on your teeth.
I hope it’s not too sweet for you, love.
It’s strength could be too bitter,
Underneath, maybe, you’ll taste the acid of my grief.
Perhaps my emotion will be thick in your throat,
Slick and heavy at the bottom of the cup.

Note, I know nothing about poetry so my comments are based solely upon what I like. And I do like this. I like the images and the comparison of emotions to the tea, that last stanza especially works nicely. Good one.
