I Seldom Curse

I seldom curse on matters worse
Than that the eye can see
But waste the time, and fill it by
A written verse misguided rhyme.
For what it seems and what it’s worth
I misjudge and strew apart,
Misapprehend and reverse
In a fickle state of heart.
I read myself the say-so's
Assertions made of life
To bring myself afloat
And fight right through my strife
Day may not hold what I proposed,
What I say is not what always goes,
Beneath a rose a thorn is posed,
A better man may raise his nose
Undoubtedly unchangeable
Seemingly true
Clichéd realities
I always knew
So when I feel a matter worse
Than that the eye can see
I tell myself I’m not to curse
When life does not make sense to me.
