The Beast
By Lennie
- 1902 reads
Moonlight feeds my everlasting hunger and the beast
within is released, transforming from a human
to a blood hungry monster with no compassion or control,
and yet I walk among them with my skin burning in sunlight
and they are all blissfully unaware of my presence.
Unfortunate souls out in the sweet night sky are haunted
with the memory of me and my work too afraid to close
their eyes and see my luscious thick brown fur,
blood stained teeth and beautiful fire red eyes.
I sing a sweet tune every night to declare my love for the moon
my harmonious howling tune is heard and feared throughout the land
because they all know that a monster has woken
and nothing short of silver will stop me.
Even monsters have nightmares mine is not of the people
or the silver or everlasting hunger for blood.
No, mine is never being able to touch my love in the sweet night sky.
