Nine

nine redacted gospels tell a tale
more human, tell of an unsung son
with his small town mentality knocked,
or maybe hammered, out of his head;
or is it crass to say he nailed it
when he urged us to hail cæsar and pay
our taxes? for the simple fact is
god don’t want your dollars, just your sense
of prophet and loss, not recompense
